Ten Tips For Total Connection
With Your Clients

  1. Know your personal level of listening skills and how to improve.  On a scale of 1-10 where do you fall?  Do you know?  Have your own level accessed.  The average is a 5.  Know what steps you can take to improve your listening skills.  Be a pro-active listener even if you have to work on it.
  2. Know your own personal communication style and what it means and how it influences others when communicating with your clients and customers.  There are many “systems” out there to access your style.  It is in your best interest to know your own.  It’s very insightful even when you think you know yourself very well.  This will help you to capitalize on your strengths.
  3. Know your personal interests, attitudes and values.  These will directly influence your decisions and how you make them.  When you have great personal clashes with others, it is often due to a big difference in your interests, attitudes and values.   What are yours?  List them.
  4. Know your personal ethics.  What are you willing and unwilling to do and to compromise?  Do your customers share those same ethics?  Have you considered how important it is to seek customers of like-mind?  Are your business ethics the same as your personal ethics?  Write them down.
  5. Know how to ask the right questions that get you results.  This is a skill that can be learned and improved.
  6. Know what your perceptions and expectations are for your business.  Then ask yourself if they are the same perceptions and expectations that your customers have for your business.
  7. What is your attitude?  We know it should be positive.  Do you really project that positive attitude that you think you do?  What is your between-the-lines attitude and what does it show?
  8. What is your self-esteem level?  Has the school of hard knocks gotten you down?  Is it affecting your results?  If it is weak, it will show.  When it is strong there is self-confidence and unwavering commitment.
  9. Your body talks.  What is yours saying without speaking a word?  Is what you do speaking louder then your words?  Is it a positive influence?  Yes, actions are louder then words.  People respond to what you do not what you say.
  10. Add some fun and creativity to your routine and theirs.  You’ll have a happier camp and campers.  Lighten up and smile more.
